Acoustic harmony duo: transatlantic folk, original covers and acclaimed originals.  

The Dark Coast are Ben Sohawon and Ian Coles. Ben created The Dark Coast in the open-mics of London in the 2010s with guitarist Sunil Taylor. After singing together in assorted bookshops, folk clubs and bars across the following decade, Ben and Ian formed The Dark Coast Mk II in 2023. 

Inspired by powerful acoustic duos like Show of Hands, Indigo Girls and Simon and Garfunkel, The Dark Coast create original songs that stand alongside the classics, building connection with audiences wherever they encounter them. 

The Dark Coast's initial project is a London musical pilgrimage down Green Lanes (A105) from Green Dragon Lane to Finsbury Park - playing all the places they can find, and inviting the people they meet to join them on the adventure.
